ABOUT MERMAIDING

Mermaiding as a Fairytale Sport

Mermaid swimming, also known as mermaid diving, opens the door between imagination and reality. As lovers of water and mermaids, we’ve all dreamed of gliding through the waves as a mermaid. Now that dream can become reality! With colorful mermaid tails, you can immerse yourself in a magical world where imagination and reality intertwine.

Origin and Spread of Mermaiding

A mythical aura has surrounded the goddesses of seas and oceans for millennia. Since three-quarters of our planet is covered with water, it is no surprise that humanity has long believed that the endless waters are home to mystical beings. Legends of mermaids have taken root in nearly every culture, with the earliest known stories dating back to 1000 BCE in Assyria. No one knows exactly how these myths entered popular consciousness, but mermaid myths have been with us for 3000 years. They are not just fleeting fads, but deeply rooted, cross-cultural legends that continue to captivate generations, now expressed through mermaid diving.

Do I Need a Mermaid Diving Course?

Although mermaid swimming may appear effortless, it actually requires serious preparation regarding safety, understanding the human body underwater, and proper use of mermaid equipment. Mermaid diving is a creative, joyful, and colorful experience that beginners can quickly master. However, swimming both in and under water makes it essential to acquire the right knowledge.
